I write to you at just before 6am, having been awake since around 3:30am. I crashed our relatively early last night, around 8:30pm I believe. I have worked my day job for 47 days straight, about to go in for day 48 before one day off tomorrow, and I feel absolutely shattered and burned out.
We’re currently taking a short break from playing live as we focus on writing some new songs and learning some of them for our first headline show on June 18 at The Poachers Pocket in Walderslade. I genuinely believe I am coming up with my best work during this period of writing — the songs are more personal than ever, I really believe in what I am saying in these tracks. During the time the band has been playing live, my confidence has increased and I feel I have improved in the vocal department. I think this translates in the new material I have been writing as well, and this has resulted in me writing demos with tighter vocal harmonies, and better melodies.
I’m going to try to catch a couple of hours sleep before I have to go to work, so take it easy!
